Education is one of the key programs in which there are manifold strategies to ensure that children are brought back into the education net. Education is also our non controversial entry point program and final strategy for rehabilitation of working children and other children in need of care and protection.
Programs run under the banner of education
Drop in Centres:
A safe place for working children where they can drop in any time they want and do any activity of their choice
Non Formal Education Classes:
Getting the children into the formal education net through Non Residential Bridge Courses underSarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), NCLP Schools, classes in the residential shelter homes, classes for out of school and working children
School Enrolment: A major program to ensure that children covered under the non formal education classes are enrolled in formal schools after a period of one year. Parental awareness and formation of parents groups is a major focus
School Follow up:
To ensure proper retention of the children post enrolment
Support Classes:
To provide children with extra coaching other than the school hours to ensure that they stay away from work and are retained in the education net
