Providing vulnerable children with opportunities for holistic development:
- A “home away from home” for children from vulnerable backgrounds
- A wide range of activities to cater to the needs of children (residential, education, skill training, counselling sessions, music & dance, sport...)
While pursuing its mission, PCVC came across many children who hailed from critical backgrounds and had to work for survival. Some of these children were with families, but the parents either refused to take care of them or they were from single parent families in dire economic conditions. Some were orphans and destitute seen on platforms, signals and communities and had no place to go.
Thus arose an urgent requirement to address the needs of these children who had no proper roof over their head and in need of care and protection: the concept of Residential Shelter came into being, with the aim to provide children from critical backgrounds with opportunities for holistic development.
Residential shelters are secure places where children receive care and attention, have the opportunity to go back to school, and are given their basic right to childhood.
We discover and enhance the different talents of each child in the shelter home and thus pave the path for their proper rehabilitation and repatriation.
