Providing adolescent girls with employable skills to prepare them for the world of work and enable them to earn a living once they reach the legal age for employment: various courses in zari (embroidery), tailoring, mehendi, beautician are offered.

The program is majorly operational in Mumbai. Through our Vocational Skill Classes, adolescent girls are given the opportunity to choose between various courses in zari (embroidery), tailoring, mehendi or beautician. At the end of the course session, the candidates receive a diploma from Pratham and have the opportunity to take Government exams.

In 2008-2009, 500 girls have attended the Skill Training Program in Mumbai, out of which 263 decided to take Government exams and were awarded a Government Certificate.
